Color is Therapy

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life ...---

Color are all around us. And whether we pay attention to them or not, the colors we surround ourselves with can have a profound impact on our lives.  Similar to how our emotions can cause us physical pain, color can have an extremely large effect on both our physical and mental health. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, “Chromotherapy is a method of treatment that uses the visible spectrum (colors) of electromagnetic radiation to cure diseases. It is a centuries-old concept used successfully over the years to cure various diseases.” Colors are capable of having a positive impact on health. In fact, each specific color can go a long way in helping to heal aches, pains, mental issues, and illnesses.

Recently, an article in Miller-McCune caught my attention. It mentioned several research studies related to the positive impact of nature on the human condition. Having plants, going for a walk in the park, or looking at a beautiful painting could produce psychological benefits, reduce stress, and improve concentration.

While this should never take the place of medical advice, by surrounding yourself with specific colors, meditating on a specific color, or even adding specific colored lights to your home, you can take control of your health in a unique and effective way.
